Job.com, LLC d/b/a Job.com (“Job.com,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Job.com platform and related services (collectively, the “Platform”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you visit or use the Platform, including our website, mobile applications, job-matching services, employer tools, newsletters, and any other features we offer.

By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform or provide us with personal information. This Policy does not apply to third-party websites or services linked from the Platform.

Information We Collect

We collect information in the following categories:

Information You Provide Directly

  • Account and profile data: name, email, phone number, address, username/password, resume/CV, cover letters, work history, education, skills, salary expectations, job preferences, and demographic information (if voluntarily provided).
  • Employer data: company name, contact details, job postings, hiring criteria, and billing information.
  • Communications: messages, support inquiries, feedback, and applications submitted through the Platform.
  • Sensitive information (where permitted by law): limited health, disability, or veteran status data if you choose to include it in applications or for accessibility/accommodation requests.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage and device data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, pages visited, time spent, clickstream data, and referral sources.
  • Cookies, pixels, and tracking technologies (see Section 5 below).

Information from Third Parties

  • Data from background check providers, reference checks, social media (with your permission), or integrated job boards/recruiting tools.
  • Publicly available professional information.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 without verifiable parental consent.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, personalize, and improve the Platform (e.g., match job seekers with employers, process applications, host job postings).
  • Communicate with you (account notifications, job alerts, marketing with your consent).
  • Facilitate hiring processes, including sharing applicant data with employers or recruiters.
  • Analyze usage, conduct research, and improve our services (including through aggregated/de-identified data).
  • Detect fraud, enforce terms, comply with legal obligations, and protect our rights.
  • Operate, maintain, and secure the Platform.

How We Share Your Information

We may share personal information with:

  • Employers and recruiters: Resumes, profiles, and application materials (you control visibility settings where available).
  • Service providers and vendors: Hosting, analytics, email delivery, background screening, payment processing, and marketing tools (under contracts that require data protection).
  • Affiliates and business partners: For operational purposes.
  • Legal and compliance: Law enforcement, regulators, or in response to subpoenas/court orders.
  • Business transfers: In connection with mergers, acquisitions, or asset sales.

We do not sell your personal information as defined under California law. We may “share” certain data for cross-context behavioral advertising (targeted ads); you may opt out of this (see Your Rights below).

Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. However, no system is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

Resumes/CVs are retained until you request deletion or your account is closed (subject to legal holds). De-identified or aggregated data may be kept indefinitely.

Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws (e.g., CCPA/CPRA for California residents, and similar laws in other states). These may include the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you.
  • Access, correct, or delete your personal information.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising.
  • Limit use of sensitive personal information.
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

How to Exercise Your Rights

Job.com does not currently offer an automated portal or self-service tool for privacy requests. All privacy-related requests must be submitted via email to our monitored account: support@job.com.

Please include:

  • Your full name, email address associated with your account, and any other identifying information.
  • A clear description of your request (e.g., “access my data,” “delete my resume”).
  • Proof of identity if required for verification.

We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond substantively within 45 calendar days (or up to 90 days with notification of extension, as permitted by law). We may deny or limit requests where permitted (e.g., for legal or security reasons).

California Residents

This Policy serves as our CCPA/CPRA privacy notice. For details on categories of personal information collected, purposes, and third parties, refer to Sections 1–3 above. You may also submit requests via the email above.

Opt-Out of Marketing

You may unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in each message.

International Users

If you are located outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. (or other countries). We use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
