Job Description

Founded in 1988, Food & Friends provides medically-tailored prepared meals, nutrition support, and friendship to people living with AIDS, cancer, and other life challenging illnesses. Our team of sixty-five employees and thousands of volunteers delivers meals and hope to people living in the District of Columbia and multiple jurisdictions across Maryland and Virginia. There is no charge or income qualification for our services, which are rendered solely on the basis of medical need.


We seek a part-time Evaluation Associate to collect, analyze, and report client data to programmatic leadership and funders.  Specifically, the Evaluation Associate will:


  • Collect, review and analyze data on client demographics, clinical benchmarks, meal plans, geographic distribution, and other client metrics;
  • Serve as liaison to healthcare referral partners on matters pertaining to training, communication, and data collection;
  • Train referral partners on Food & Friends’ services, client eligibility, and data sharing protocols;
  • Analyze data using spreadsheets and statistical software;
  • Design surveys and other research instruments to collect client data; and
  • Provide regular written reports for Food & Friends’ leadership and referral partners.


This position offers 20 hours of work per week and a flexible schedule.  Must be willing to work in a traditional office environment.


Requires advanced academic or professional experience with quantitative research methods.  Must have intermediate ability in statistical analysis; skill in using standard office and statistical analysis software; ability to design surveys; ability to write concise reports using quantitative and qualitative data; and the ability and willingness to deliver public presentations.  Must be comfortable working with diverse populations. Experience in a social service or public health setting preferred.   Offer of employment contingent upon a pre-employment drug test and proof of vaccination---including booster---against COVID-19 (exemption from vaccination requirement will be considered for disability or a sincerely held religious belief, practice, or observance).
