Your Role: As a BIW Manufacturing Engineer, you must have the ability to meet tight deadlines, have strong communication skills, be detail oriented, and have the ability to work independently. You must establish and maintain a professional working relationship with external and internal teams at all levels across the company. Responsibilities: * Interacts with Product Development Team to ensure manufacturing feasibility. * Ensures that the process developed is the most efficient and cost effective way based on the current known conditions. * Provides direction and receives feedback from suppliers ensuring tool quality & delivery commitments are met. * Ensures Faraday tool standards is followed by Supplier. * Lead BIW Body Accuracy (dimensional) investigation for off tooling process for new model launch; read CMM reports / Vectron measurements & determine problem solving strategies to improve model launch BIW body accuracy. * Lead BIW Equipment procurement, equipment buyoff, installation and validation of Body Shop machinery. * Develop BIW processes and line design considering cycle time, cost, multi model line flexibility. * Equipment Procurement: Interact with purchasing department to make sure all materials comply with applicable standards, specify tooling and equipment to assure process capability and safety. * Attend and approve fixture design and buy off. * Significant, extended travel, including internationally may be required from time to time. * Provides direction and leadership to Launch Support Team including outsourced suppliers. * Other tasks assigned by Manager. Basic Qualifications: * Advanced knowledge of GD & T. * Advanced knowledge of BIW processes and design for manufacturing. * Knowledge of BIW Joining technologies; spot welding, laser application, body adhesive bonding, friction stir welding, riveting, clinching * Strong interpersonal and communication skills are an absolute requirement to establish effective working relationships throughout the Faraday organization. * Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines * Work in a team-based environment to achieve common goals * Maintain top level professional integrity * Ability to work independently * Strong quality mindset * Highly adaptable * Ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with external and internal teams at all levels across the company.
