Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide courteous, consistent, professional and knowledgeable customer service.Assist volunteers to complete their Girl Scout Merchandise purchases. Adhere to and support Store Policies. Be knowledgeable of the merchandise as it relates to the Program levels and answer volunteer's questions. Learn about new merchandise as it is developed and introduced.Educate the volunteer on the National Girl Scout Program Portfolio and its complimentary merchandise. Learn and understand from the Retail Merchandising Manager the skills of excellent product placement techniques, and how to encourage additional sales.Learn & practice strong inventory control methods. Correctly counting in merchandise shipment to packing slip. Assist to complete cycle counts year-round, and in full physical count as needed.Understand the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and how the Retail Shop can motivate girls and parents to expand their participation.Other duties as assigned.Skills / Experience / OtherQualifications (Minimum Education and Experience)Outstanding customer service and organizational skills.Knowledge of Girl Scouting highly desirable.Prior retail sales experience preferred.Good math skills and able to use a cash register.Dependable and self-motivated.Excellent computer skills.Ability to multi-task.GED required.Additional Organizational RequirementsSubscribe to the principles of the Girl Scout Movement. Behave in ways that demonstrate respectful treatment of other employees, volunteers, and girls.Practice pluralism and be inclusive with the services provided.Physical RequirementsThe incumbent is in a non-confined office-type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will. The environment for this position is mostly clean and comfortable but may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc. while performing this work, the incumbent:Will spend time sitting, utilizing the computer.Will spend time standing/walking throughout the facilities.Must travel via personal vehicle or public transport to various facilities throughout the region.May lift to 15 lbs. periodically. If more, the incumbent must request assistance. The incumbent must be able to perform this job safely, without endangering the health or safety of him/herself or others.
