Job Description


Responsible for acquiring reparations for debts owed to the credit union. Receives and post payments to accounts, monitors overdue accounts, and collects debt. Maintains files on the financial status of members accounts. Work directly with the Collections Director.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage inbound and outbound collection calls
  • Perform account level research
  • Overcome objections that members have about making payments toward their account and help them to understand their account(s) and responsibilities
  • Become familiar with and follow credit union guidelines and procedures
  • Attend team meetings
  • Update account information and complete appropriate documentation
  • Maintain superior quality assurance results
  • Ensure daily delinquency letters are sent out to past due members
  • Work as a team to meet departmental goals and objectives
  • Ensure proof of insurance received my mail are uploaded to members files
  • Assist in the process of extension/loan modifications
  • Work on release of vehicle titles
  • Work on overdraft accounts
  • Maintain member and other sensitive information with confidentiality
  • Perform other duties as may be deemed necessary for the effective and efficient function of the Department or Credit Union.

Basic Qualifications and skills:

High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent Certification or military experience

Minimum of 6 months of experience in the field

Preferred Qualifications:

Bilingual in English and Spanish

2 years post-high school education or Associate Degree

1 year experience Call Center or Loss Mitigation

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time on call position that will require hours of work M-F and Sat.


This position does not require any traveling.
