*Position: **Hospitality Assistant**Department: **Nursing**Purpose*
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the comfort, care, and service is provided to the residents according to facility policy.
*Essential Job Functions Duties and Responsibilities*
*Room Cleanliness Functions** Make bed in a neat and orderly fashion with clean sheets and blankets. Ensure call light is placed on the bed where is can be reached. * Place resident personal care items in a bag labeled with the residents name. * For incontinent residents, fold and place Phoenix pads under the resident pillow for dignity compliance. * Maintain room and facility cleanliness by picking up and handling dirty linens, trash, meal trays, etc. *Nutrition Functions** Pass fresh ice water to residents during specified times. * Assist staff in delivering meal trays to residents in Main Dining room and on the units. * Pass snacks to residents at specified times using a wheeled cart * For each meal service while residents are still in the dining rooms, complete the resident meal selection sheet and turn into dietary. *Room Supply Functions** Deliver clean hand towels, wash clothes, peri-rags and night goes to each resident as scheduled. * Supply resident rooms with gloves in the bathrooms and clear and black plastic bases in the closets for linen and trash bins. *Infection Control Functions** Take trash from dirty linen rooms and dispose in the outside dumpsters. Replace lid on outside dumpster. * Once a shift, clean lifts, including handles and wheels, and disinfect resident wheel chairs. * After meal services, organize the day rooms and clean kitchenettes by wiping counters, refrigerators and cabinets. *Resident Need Functions** Provide residents with transportation to and from dining rooms and activities by pushing wheel chars. * Answer call lights and make sure they are within reach if resident is in the room. Complete simple requests, (e.g. hand them the remote control, close the curtain, etc.) but do not provide any care related functions (e.g. pull them up in bed, take to the toilet, etc). Notify the CNA or other nursing staff if a care request is made. *Additional Functions** Follow established safety precautions in the performance of all duties. * Maintain a work environment that is clean and presents a professional image. * Attend and participate in in-service training programs to meet state, federal and company requirements. *Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities*
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism. Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public. Must be able to work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and potentially hostile people within the facility.

Essential functions are carried out in a variety of positions including standing and sitting. To meet residents needs, all positions require the ability to move freely through the building. Other physical demands are required as described below.
