Job Description

Position Summary:

Americas Preferred Home Warranty (APHW) has an excellent career opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk (AP Clerk) at a growing company. In this role, you will be responsible for the financial processing of transactions for our organization. Your duties will include daily bookkeeping and record keeping, financial reporting, and the preparation of tax records for financial audits.

Schedule: Full-time 8 a.m. 5 p.m. Monday Friday; Overtime as needed

Location: Jackson, MI Corporate Office

Wage: $16.00 per hour

  • Participates in performance improvement plans as requested


  • Reconciliation of Financial Statements
  • Handle Confidential Information on a regular basis
  • Processing of bill payments to Vendors and Affiliates
  • Understanding of General Ledger and Chart of Accounts
  • Manage accounts transactions and monthly reporting
  • Create journal entries
  • Assist other areas in the company with accounting questions or issues
  • Document management and retention
  • Providing support over the phone and by email for customers and employees
  • Making outgoing calls or emails to resolve administrative issues with customers
  • Word processing
  • Internet research
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Previous Accounts Receivable and Payable experience
  • Accounting software knowledge
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Good telephone etiquette
  • Self-motivated with strong work ethic, integrity, and values
  • Background with Microsoft Windows Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Required Education:

  • High school or equivalent
  • College courses preferred

Required Experience:

1 year of Accounts Payable
