Job Description
The Center for Executive Education at Temple University's Fox School of Business develops and delivers programs designed to support the professional development needs of corporations, not-for-profit organizations, and university clients. As part of the Fox School of Business, the Center collaborates with faculty including those from the Executive MBA program and subject matter experts to offer open enrollment programs and customized programs to meet the specific needs of the Center's partners. The Associate Director of Business Development, reporting directly to the Managing Director of the Center for Executive Education, drives corporate outreach, with the ultimate goal of generating $1 mil in annual revenue for the Center for Executive Education through open enrollment registrations and custom program engagements with Center partners. This role will support the cultivation of relationships that allow the Center to serve as a resource for Center partners and their professional development efforts through a variety of educational offerings (non-credit workshops, certificate programs, custom partnerships, etc.) while also promoting the Fox School of Business graduate program opportunities. In partnership with the Managing Director, contribute/implement a strategic plan to increase the visibility of the Center for Executive Education among the corporate/business community and leverage relationships to establish partnerships according to identified metrics. Identify and establish substantial corporate relationships with prioritized business partners. The Associate Director of Business Development will create connections between Center for Executive Educations and corporate clients and non-profits by generating, prospecting, qualifying, and securing leads. As an active member of the Sales team, a successful candidate will identify opportunities, build a pipeline of prospects and drive revenue for the Center of Executive Education. The position requires the ability to travel to conduct on site visits with corporate clients. In collaboration with the Managing Director, the Associate Director of Business Development will deliver sales pitches and close deals that include revenue generating partnerships, workshops, and immersion trips with corporate clients, non-profit organizations and Temple University partners. This is a hybrid position. Education & Experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree in business or related field and at least four years of directly-related experience in sales, business development, key account management, customer service, or relationship management in corporate sales. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Preferred Skills and Abilities : Strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail. Exceptional interpersonal skills and a high-level of professionalism in person, by phone, and via email, including a high comfort level with an executive audience. A demonstrated ability to work concurrently on multiple projects with varying timelines. Excellent communication skills, including writing, proofreading, and speaking (online professionalism included). Strong customer service orientation and ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of executives, faculty, and staff, both in-person and online. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential materials. Strong collaboration skills and ability to work as a team player across multiple levels. Strong proficiency in computer systems and various software applications (including Microsoft Office Suite, Banner, GoogleDrive, and Zoom, or other similar systems) and ability to oversee complex databases. Ability to pivot in a dynamic environment. Ability to travel to locations that may not be accessible via public transportation as well as national. Ability to travel internationally should the need arise. Ability to work nights and/or weekends, as necessary. Experience in the Executive Education field is a plus, but not required. This position is temporarily assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
