Real Clean Pools is hiring immediately for a pool equipment repair technician to add to our growing team in the Austin area! The position is responsible for diagnosing and repairing pool equipment such as pumps, filters, motors, valves and other electro-mechanical components which reside on the equipment pad of residential swimming pools. We DO NOT perform any repair or rehab to the pool actual pool itself such as plaster, coping or surrounding decking. Our pool repair technicians are required to drive a company truck to each customer's home, diagnose many types of maintenance/repair issues, recommend maintenance/repair options to customers, and complete all pool repair requirements with professionalism and service excellence. Pool equipment repair experience is not required, but experience with mechanical equipment, electrical and PVC plumbing is recommended.

Responsibilities include:

  • Carry out general pool repair such as replacing pool motors, pool pumps and pool filters. Oversee and recommend general maintenance of all pool equipment.
  • Accurately diagnose cause of pool repair issues, recommend options for solutions, price repairs (when applicable) in accordance with company policy, complete repairs, complete and submit all required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain positive attitude at all times with customers, fellow employees, and supervisors.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and customers to ensure complete alignment of our weekly pool repair services.
  • Maintain and be responsible for company-specified tools, equipment and inventory as well as your truck for most cost-effective delivery of quality service.
  • Attend required department meetings and company or vendor training as required.
  • Exhibit professional conduct at all times, whether at the job site or driving company vehicles.
  • Clean and clear the work area after job has been completed as well as ensure individual customer requests are adhered to.
  • Wear provided company uniform at all times and maintain well-groomed appearance in accordance with company policies.

  • Ability to drive a vehicle with standard or automatic gear and enter/exit a truck or car.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
  • Stand for extended periods of time
  • Repetitive lifting, twisting, bending, pulling, and pushing may be required.
  • Handles power tools.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a schedule and workload
  • Ability to work outdoors at all times in all temperature ranges.

Driver's License (Required) * High school or equivalent (Preferred) * Pool Repair: 3 years (Preferred) * Possess willingness and ability to become RAIL certified (Residential Appliance Installers License). * Able to pass a criminal background check and possess a clean driving record. * Demonstrate a high level of mental aptitude and physical ability. * Excellent communication & customer service skills. * Ability to prioritize workload * Manage customer interaction with good composure. * Dependable and self-motivated with desire to work year-round. * Ability to take instruction and adapt to new methods/systems * Proper swimming pool repair methods and techniques * Proper use of swimming pool repair parts & part numbers.
