Job Description
Daystar Television Network is looking for a Senior-level SQL Server Database Administrator with database design, T-SQL development and administration skills. Candidates must be highly motivated, responsible and a detail-oriented team player. This is a senior DBA lead role requiring full software development lifecycle skills, SQL Server troubleshooting and support skills, supporting Daystar’s CRM and integrated applications environment.

Excellent documentation skills with the ability to show the big picture at-a-glance, as well as drill into details, to communicate data flow, data processing and data design matters
Excellent process skills, coming up with time- and effort-saving procedures for complex situations, involving many components or departments of an organization
Strong SQL Server administration skills from installation and configuration to development and production support.
Provide data queries involving complex data and sometimes multiple SQL Servers
Create stored procedures and functions from scratch and integrate with third-party products via external applications or third-party product extensions.
A track record that shows achievements, not only experience.
Strong troubleshooting skills for performance-related issues in database design, T-SQL, the query engine and deployment infrastructure.
Able to learn complex third-party products with extensive amounts of stored procedures and functions.
Accomplished in an environment managing millions of records, hundreds of tables and hundreds of stored procedures in a single SQL Server database.
Accomplished in an environment consisting of many disparate applications coordinating together as an enterprise-wide solution
Responsibilities
Be the lead SQL Server DBA with at least one more junior DBA assisting
Provide highly proficient deliverables with all aspects of IT projects: requirements, specifications, development, testing, production support, troubleshooting and performance analysis
Know how to quickly learn large, complex T-SQL code bases and extend them without adverse effects
Provide enterprise-wide views of data to support ad-hoc reporting where end users can make sense of complex data
Be the lead on SQL Server instance installations, configurations, deployments and production monitoring
Ensure proficient production maintenance practices
Be the lead on SQL Server data security requirements and verification of security compliance
Be available to troubleshoot SQL Server service outages even after- hours and weekends
Experienced with both on-hardware and virtual deployments
Provide enterprise-wide dataflow documentation including staying in-sync with ongoing data changes.
Provide development, test and production deployment documentation that makes sense of complex deployments at-a-glance with illustrations and provides drill-down details as needed
