The Research Assistant contributes with research investigators by providing research and experimentation support while following established protocols. Further, the Research Assistant performs a clerical role to ensure the smooth operations of office facilities.Organizes and maintains a system for monitoring of subjects enrolled on longitudinal studies and assures collection of data in a timely manner.Prepares and organizes data to promote efficient computer entry.Demonstrates knowledge of Good Clinical Practice Guidelines, IRB review, reporting requirements and regulatory affairs.Oversees schedule and follows-up on progress in patient's chart and performs retrospective chart reviews.Participates in the consent process as guided by institutional policy and assists with the development of the consent forms.Communicates with internal and/or external regulatory oversight entities (e.g. IRB, NIH).Participates in the development of protocol roadmaps or flow sheets and may participate in the completion of reports and forms.This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh School diploma or equivalentMinimum 1 year of relevant experienceSkill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.Commitment to the University's core values.Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.The University of Miami offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, tuition remission and more.UHealth-University of Miami Health System, South Florida's only university-based health system, provides leading-edge patient care powered by the ground breaking research and medical education at the Miller School of Medicine.
