Senior Manager Operations
The Sr. Manager Operations role requires a natural curiosity to drive results through effectiveness and efficiency. Working as a strategic business partner to our leadership team, this role will support a wide variety of activities to achieve our team’s and company’s strategic goals. Results will be obtained through effective planning, influence building, and utilization of cross functional resources.


The Company is one of North America’s leading sales and marketing agencies specializing in outsourced sales, merchandising, category management and marketing services to manufacturers, suppliers and producers of food products and consumer packaged goods. The Company services a variety of trade channels including grocery, mass merchandise, specialty, convenience, drug, dollar, club, hardware, consumer electronics and home centers. We bridge the gap between manufacturers and retailers, providing consumers access to the best products available in the marketplace today.

 

Position Summary

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Efficiency & Effectiveness
• Collaborate with pillar leads to identify potential problems, monitor operational issues / points of friction and work to find solutions that maximize efficiency and revenue
• Support new business presentations as requested to achieve revenue growth objectives
• Provide new contract development, contract renewal and invoicing support
• Monitor our competitive landscape to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement
• Develops, implements and communicates operational strategies and solutions
• Develop ideas for cost saving measures
• Oversee the development of key reports (i.e. weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews) for all necessary stakeholders to review and improve business impact
Liaison to Finance
• Work with Finance on annual Planning/Budgeting and ensure guidance provided by Region VP/GM and Finance are included in the planning
• Lead the monthly review of budget to include revenue forecasts and expense management to ensure all are appropriate and accurate
• Collaborate with team to generate leads and update all risk/opportunities reflected in CRM for Region VP/GM to review/manage against
• Establish/maintain a consistent process for tracking A/R payments from clients to ensure accuracy and timely postings of payments
• Evaluate P&L, and work with markets, to ensure all revenue is recognized and expense are accurate
• Point person for all special requests including, but not limited to, billing questions, payment, budget reallocation, coverage model revisions
Proactive Communication
• Development of presentations to achieve strategic objectives
• Faciliatate meetings that impact total division (i.e. townhall meetings, lunch and learns, etc.) 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Direct Reports
- This position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct reports

Indirect Reports
- Does not have direct reports, but may delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

 

Travel and/or Driving Requirements:

- Travel is an essential duty and function of this job
- Travel up to 25%

 

Minimum Qualifications The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job
Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

(Preferred): MBA Degree or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience:
7+ years’ experience in management, sales, marketing, finance, operations and/or large company equivalent experience

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Ability to complete multiple duties with accuracy shifting from one to another with frequent interruptions and competing deadlines
• Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills
• Ability to exercise sound judgment
• Ability to visualize and plan objectives and goals strategically
• Strong Sales Planning, Sales Operations and Finance background required
• Strong prioritization skills, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment
• Flexible and adaptable, able to change and alter according to changes in projects or business environment
• Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines
• Good interpersonal skills, ability to build consensus
• Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web-browsers

 

Environmental & Physical Requirements:

Office / Sedentary Requirements: Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
