Job Description
Job Goal: To ensure that the faculty, staff, and students meet the goals and objectives of the school; to create an atmosphere where learning and excelling to the greatest potential are a part of the school culture; to improve education for students affected by developmental disorders through curriculum development, teacher training, family support, arts outreach, technology, and public awareness.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's DegreePA Teaching certificationSpecial Education certificationExperience working with individuals with developmental delaysEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide 1:1 behavioral and academic support and remediation for students in all areasPlan, prepare, and implement appropriate lesson plans for the development of specific skillsSubmit weekly lessons plansAssign homework as deemed necessary and appropriateSet specific goals for improvement and use assessment to gauge skill developmentCommunicate with IEP team about student progress and needsAttend and be an active participant in IEP meetingsWrite and manage annual IEPs for all assigned studentsCollect accurate and reliable data on all IEP goals and other target skillsAdvise parents and teachers on implementation of programsMonitor and evaluate student progressWrite and maintain student progress notes and reports, as well as information for parents and other professionalsWork with others to improve the effectiveness of service deliveryPlan and deliver training sessionsParticipate in research projects.Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activitiesPerform any additional duties as deemed necessary by the educational directorKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to communicate information to students, parents, colleagues and 3rd parties effectively, and to timely monitor and report on developmentsExercises sound judgment and exhibits strong decision-making and problem solving skillsAbility to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, clients and the publicDisplays exceptional interpersonal communication and leadership skillsAbility to work independently and cooperatively as part of a teamResults-oriented and self-starter who is able to effectively work within deadlinesOther qualificationsAct 33 Child Abuse ClearanceAct 34 State Criminal History ClearanceAct 114 FBI ClearanceAct 168 ClearanceMandated Reporter TrainingCurrent Physical and TB TestCPR/First Aid Training
