For this role we are looking for a Director in Tax Consulting who will work directly with domestic clients, building a relationship as a trusted tax specialist and advisor and their "go-to" tax consulting professional. You will collaborate daily with your high-performing team, as well as the other tax consulting teams identifying potential approaches to address complex tax issues through research, use of cutting-edge technology, and consultation with other team members. Once the consulting work is complete you will ensure a smooth transition of the engagement to the compliance team(s). Responsibilities As a Director in this group: * You will be responsible for analysis proposed transactions for tax benefits and risks, advise clients on restructuring transactions, interpret complex tax rules relating to corporate and partnership transactions (e.g., Sec. 368 reorganization rules, 351 conNntributions, 355 spin-offs, 332 liquidations, 754 elections, 704 allocations, 382 loss limitation rules, etc.). * You will be responsible for financial analysis to assess the tax consequences of specific transactions. * You will lead a multi-disciplinary domestic consulting team that focus on areas such as M&A, R&D studies, large corporation issues, effective tax planning and other consulting areas such as tax structuring services. You will collaborate with the other Consulting groups such as International, EGT, SALT, Transfer Pricing as well as ensuring the compliance team has the necessary information to complete their work. * You will foster and grow the client relationship and communicate findings and opportunities to clients. * You will Managing multiple engagements simultaneously and all consulting group divisions and associates across the Firm * Develop, motivate, and train staff and manager level team member. * You will be out in the community fostering relationships with centers of influence in order to market consulting solutions to potential clients as well as cross-selling other solutions that will create value to prospects and current clients. Qualifications * 15 or more years of federal tax consulting experience in a public accounting firm, a corporate tax department, or a law firm * Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university * CPA and/or J.D./LL.M * Knowledge of a broad range of corporate tax matters in various industries * Ability to manage multiple engagements * Excellent research and writing skills * Ability to generate business * Ability to train and pass down information and learning to those on your team empowering them to move ahead in their careers.
