Job Description
Overview: Canon Financial Services, Inc. (CFS) located in Mount Laurel, NJ is currently seeking a Collections Supervisor (Supervisor, Collections). The Collections Supervisor will assist in the management of the Collections team. Lead a team of Collection Associates to achieve monthly objectives. Responsible for the collection of lease payments, miscellaneous charges, late charges and renewal charges on delinquent accounts that are both active and disposed. Maintain high visibility within the Canon family for our customers and dealers. Provide superior customer service by effectively interacting with other departments, customers and Canon partners to ensure customer needs are met and activities are completed accurately and timely. Provide additional assistance to the team and assist with mentoring and developing the team Responsibilities: Supervise a team of Collection associates to ensure the Strategic Departmental Goals are achievedResponsible for overseeing all collection activities on accounts for customers identified as part of that teamDevelop and execute department strategy for the team to achieve department results. Ensure that cost benefit analysis of the team is monitored. Develop and evaluate the team on key department metrics (e.g. delinquency, dollars collected, late fees)Provide daily leadership to collections staff to meet expectations and promote a team environment. Lead and direct the work of othersHas strong understanding of applicable CFS processes, able to take ownership and resolve complex problems, identify recurring issues and possible root causes, and capable of recommending and implementing improvement ideas to management that will provide additional efficiencies to the businessIdentify reporting needs of the department: create, develop, analyze data and present to management findingsCross functional interaction between departments to ensure the timely collection/clean-up of miscellaneous chargesMentor and train associates and strengthen working relationships within the servicing departmentProviding associates timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; developing associates to their fullest potential to enhance career growth; recognizing and rewarding associates for accomplishmentsParticipate in both mid-year and end of year performance appraisalsA wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected, based on prior experiences, to effectively service our customersDemonstrate high ethical standards, maintain optimism and promote team spirit. Flexible and understands that additional hours beyond the 7.5-hour workday may be needed to meet business needs.Actively participate in Talent AcquisitionParticipate in and take a leadership role in project teams and other business initiatives as requestedRequires a bachelor's degree in a related areaRequires 5+ years experience in Collections/Customer Service, and 3 years of Supervisory experienceExperience creating and delivering data/findings to Department leadersMust have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and clearlyAchieve all goals, as assigned monthlyCreate and implement process improvements.
