Who we are seeking:

  • Public accountants with 1-3 years of FDD/QoE experience.
  • FDD professionals looking to expand their skillset into FP&A, financial modeling, and M&A.


Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Perform and lead junior team members in key financial due diligence analyses
    • Perform financial due diligence on key areas of the Income Statement and Balance Sheet
    • Formulate questions and propose basic adjustments based on the identification of key risks and business drivers
    • Lead analysis on key operational data, net working capital, debt, and debt-like items
    • Lead initial drafts of reports (including Quality of Earnings reports) and databooks for clients that highlight the key financial findings of potential investments as well as the drivers behind sustainable profits and cash flows
    • Maintain due diligence and other project trackers
  • Perform and lead junior team members in FP&A and modeling engagements in support of M&A and T&T Engagements
    • Lead build of financial and operational models
    • Design and lead synthesis and conversion of data into analysis that is used to drive discussions with target management and highlight observations and conclusions
    • Formulate repeatable and scalable deliverables to measure operations KPIs and financial reporting packages
  • Lead in the initial drafts of deal-oriented reports and presentations for clients using PowerPoint, Excel, and Business Intelligence (BI) technologies
  • Manage and prioritize responsibilities, working to manage and mentor junior tier team members and proactively consult with senior team members
  • Assist in the general execution of engagements and maintenance of client relationships


Qualifications & Requirements:

Associate candidates should have an undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or other related fields; any postgraduate degree, including MAC or MBA, is preferred but not required.

Ideal Associate candidates should have 3-7 years of prior work experience.  Experienced Associates ideally started their career in an audit role with an accounting or consulting firm, or otherwise have a background in financial due diligence, investment banking, restructuring, corporate finance or FP&A.  Associate candidates should have experience managing junior tier members in their prior work experience.

Candidates that demonstrate a strong alignment with our core values, with an interest in private equity, entrepreneurship, M&A and transaction services will do well at Palm Tree.

In addition to demonstrating a strong work ethic, being well organized and capable of multi-tasking on more than one assignment, and managing multiple team members at a time, candidates should have sound technical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.  Experience with BI technologies and other data manipulation tools is a plus but not necessary.

*This position requires 5% - 30% travel with the ability to work remotely. Timing is immediate with highly competitive base compensation, incentive, and benefits packages.  We are presently hiring in the L.A., Chicago, Detroit, and Dallas markets*
