Your job can involve service installations, alterations, additions, and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment within the residential, commercial, and industrial electrical industry. The ideal candidate must also be experienced in different kinds of electrical devices and systems including but not limited to PLC's, cable trays, basic and advanced motor controls, data cables, tuggers, transformers, fire alarms, etc.. Due to the high amount of risk pertaining to this job, electricians must be first and foremost responsible individuals with great attention to safety precautions. Responsibilities Demonstrates safe work habits while performing all electrical service tasks/projects with limited supervision Executes plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning lighting, intercom and other electrical systems Installs commercial electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment for alarm and other systems Installs safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.) Connects wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components Prevents breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc. Performs effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units Maintains proper care of tools, equipment, and vehicle Maintains valid driver's license and is deemed insurable by Company's insurance carrier Qualifications What You Offer Diploma, GED, successfully completed apprenticeship as an electrician, or relevant vocational training Five years of experience as an electrician in commercial and/or industrial electrical systems Demonstrable ability to use power, electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter, benders, drills, etc.) The ability to understand electrical drawings, schematics and blueprints Thorough knowledge of OSHA safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines Must have valid vehicle operator's license and be deemed insurable by the Company's insurance carrier Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability GAYLOR ELECTRIC, INC. is an equal opportunity employer and gives consideration for employment to qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
