Job Description
Position Summary The Receiving Manager at America’s Remanufacturing Company (ARC) is responsible for the efficient execution of inbound activities. The expectations of this position are comprised of two primary principles: high throughput and process integrity. High receiving output is essential for the success of ARC but can never be achieved at the expense of process compliance. The processes in place at ARC are the main value driver for our customers and any failure in process adherence is a failure to meet our commitment to our customer. Primary Responsibilities Maintaining Pace
Set accurate goals for receiving pace and hold receiving members accountable to the goals that are set
Maintain an active awareness of operational pace and adjust as need to maximize pace
Identify and correct quickly instances of non-productive time and create action plans or process improvements to prevent it from recurring
Allocate human and material resources to facilitate efficient operations. Base decisions on company priorities
Assign product to receiving stations to execute the receiving plan most efficiently
Inventory Management
Ensure all loads that are received at the dock are appropriately labeled, all paperwork is handled as dictated by SOP, and all inbound load information is put into the system accurately and timely
Maintain a well-organized plan for the identification and storage of inventory in the department appropriate to the level of inbound
Direct all physical and digital inventory movement in assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Interface with a digital inventory system that tracks the location and movement of product throughout the facility
Ensure inventory is accurately entered into this system and all digital activities are properly executed
Oversee receiving-related programs outside of general receiving responsibilities including identification and sorting of product for different program dispositions as well as managing the quarantine of items not within contractual programs
Perpetually evaluate current inventory management processes and identify and recommend improvements
Employee Management
Manage the productivity of 10+ employees to achieve efficiency goals
Manage the placement, training, and evaluation of new employees
Ensure all hands operating as part of the Receiving department are trained, informed, and capable of executing their assigned processes Includes work instructions, standards, safety, tools, PPE, etc.
Mentor and develop station leaders and specialists to form a top tier team dedicated to achieving plant receiving goals
Constructively evaluate receiving staff in accordance with their evaluation schedule
Ensure the proper application and execution of disciplinary action as warranted
Manage staffing levels by: Assigning personnel as needed to execute operational plans as efficiently as possible
Adjusting personnel assignments to account for absences or product interruptions
Recommending changes to staffing goals .
Execute the movement of released pallets to be received according to the daily receiving plan
Execute product flow post-receipt to core and production
Maintain positive control of all physical and digital product movement through the receipt process
Ensure any observed deviation from compliance, whether process or policy, is documented and addressed immediately and without fail
Reporting
Maintain and provide reports on the status of all inbound loads from receipt at the dock through the completion of the load receipt
Maintain and provide reports on the volume of inbound product that hits the dock each day that includes pallet count and an estimated piece count
Maintain and provide reports on the productivity of each member of staff
Maintain and provide reports on the inventory growth trends for the department
Receiving Facilitation
Begin each shift with product staged and ready to be received
Always have all necessary material available and ready for use at receiving stations
Ensure all digital issues are addressed in a timely fashion
Maintain organized and clearly defined workspaces throughout your area of responsibility
Ensure that all work areas are clear of debris and hazards to movement
Ensure that all workstations are clear of unreceived or “stowed away” product
Remove all trash and damaged pallets
Ensure any closing procedures allocated to your department are executed daily
Prerequisites and Qualifications Associate degree (preferred)
Experience leading teams of at least 10 other individuals
Demonstrated ability to enforce company standards and policy
Advanced level familiarity with computer systems
Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office
Effective Communication skills
Ability to work extended shifts, weekends, and holidays
Ability to operate a forklift
Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities
Ability to work with all levels of company staff
Comfortable providing direct written and verbal feedback
Ability to quickly adapt to changing organizational and operational needs
Ability to function in a high stress environment while focusing on exceeding operational goals
Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
Schedule Weekdays 6:30am-4:30pm (45 minute lunch and 15 minutes of self-scheduled break)
