This is accomplished by a continuing study of department specific product chemistries. A continuous review of the physical and chemical application techniques for these products is also required.Project management to design and implement research plans and timelines for multi-year, multimillion dollar research grantsPerform work in a safe manner while identifying opportunities for improving safety.Design and supervise performance tests to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations.Carry out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies to carry out analysis.Construct, maintain and operate standard laboratory equipment and ensure the laboratory is well stocked and resourced.A mixture of office based and standard laboratory-based work such as recording and interpreting results.Keep abreast of developments in the field of department specific techniques. Identify new state-of-the-art test techniques. Evaluate new test apparatus or modify existing equipment to improve analyses or develop new types of analyses.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related discipline and at least 2 years of laboratory experience OR PhD in related fieldPrevious experience managing research projectsPrevious experience presenting at conferences and writing technical papers.Previous experience reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, laboratory operating procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Physical Demands:Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsMay require extended periods of time on a computerRole is deemed safety-sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.Preferred Qualifications:Advanced level Microsoft Office including, among others, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizationPrevious experience of working with oilfield chemical related projects.Previous experience in nanoparticlesAbout Champion XChampionX is a global leader in providing chemistry programs and services, drilling technology, artificial lift solutions, and automation technologies for the upstream and midstream oil and gas industry.
