We are looking for motivated, proactive, and experienced individuals to join our dedicated operations team. Our goal is to deliver consistently safe, positive and engaging member experiences.Role & Responsibilities:The responsibilities and duties described here are representative of those an employee must perform. This is not a comprehensive list and other duties may be assigned. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure that the club and exercise equipment are clean and well maintained while providing all members, prospective members, and guests with excellent customer serviceAssist in event and party set-up and break-down; including setting up tables, chairs and events equipment Sweep, mop, and vacuum all floors around the facilityClean windows and ledges around the facility year-roundEnsure we have clean, folded towels at all timesMaintain a clean locker room, scrub showers, toilets, and stock all locker room consumablesRemove garbage and debrisOperating and having full knowledge of various chemicals and personal protective equipmentDust high surfaces Ensure that the sidewalk entrance, stairwells and lobby are presentableNotify the management when any rooms or equipment need immediate attentionClean and organize storage, laundry, exercise, and coat roomsPolish stainless-steel surfaces in locker rooms and around facilityFollows safety standards and practicesQUALIFICATIONSMust be punctual, reliable, communicative, and motivatedMust possess a clear understanding of what constitutes a clean and sanitary environmentStrong customer service, organizational, communication, and multi-tasking abilitiesAbility to work in a stationery position and move about the club for prolonged periods of timeMaintain a neat appearance and have good hygieneGood "people skills" and a "team player" attitudeMust be willing to work varied shifts, weekends, holidays, and possible overtimeMust be able to lift up to 40-50 poundsFully Vaccinated for COVID-19PREFERENCESPrior housekeeping or janitorial experience Prior experience in a fitness/sports facilityComfortable being in a locker room environmentBilingual (English and Spanish) a plusOSHA 10 CertifiedBenefitsChelsea Piers is truly an incredible place to work! Safe/Sick Time - Chelsea Piers provides paid safe/sick time to employees who work more than 80 hours in a calendar year. Employees begin accruing time at the start of employment. Eligible employees will accrue 1 hour of safe/sick time for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum accrual of 56 hours per calendar year. Employee Referral Program - Full-time and part-time employees (who work a minimum of 20 hours per week) are eligible to participate in the referral program. Chelsea Piers employees are eligible to receive a referral bonus of $500 for full-time referrals (minimum 35 hours per week) and $250 for part-time referrals (minimum 20 hours per week) after the referral completed 60 days of employment. 401K Savings and Retirement Plan - Must be employed with the company for 6 months and be projected to work 1,000 hours over a year. Monthly enrollment period. After three years enrolled, you will be fully vested. Company match 8% to a maximum of $2,500 per year.TransitChek Program - After 60 days of employment, Chelsea Piers employees who work at least 20 hours per week are eligible to participate in the TransitChek program, which allows for the pre-tax purchase of MetroCards or TransitChek debit cards that are used to purchase commuting tickets and passes from transit operators throughout the metropolitan New York/New Jersey area.
