Overview: Hiring for three (3) levels of Chemical Operators with three (3) different shift options.Location: Troy Corporation Newark Manufacturing PlantAll three positions require a high school diploma or GED. Three to five years experience in a chemical manufacturing environment desiredCHEMICAL OPERATOR AAccording to a schedule set up by a supervisor or manager, Chemical Operator A carries out the operation of reactors, vessels and related chemical equipment for the production of specified products according to batch card instructions from collecting the raw materials, operating the reactors to filling of drums or containers with the finished products. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Directing activities of all assigned assistants such as Operators B & C, packer and handler, etc.Making sure that all instructions on batch cards are carried out.Seeing that all equipment is in working order and for making minor repairs or adjustments (as has been the practice in the past).Seeing that all safety regulations are followed by all personnel assigned to him.Making certain that all raw materials are on hand for products to be manufactured.To make sure all working areas are clean and maintained in a safe condition.Reporting all accidents, damage to equipment or buildings, spills of chemicals and any conditions which may affect plant operation.Filling out all paperwork required relating to production.The A Operator must be capable of properly operating all equipment involved in the process area in which he works and for which he is responsible.CHEMICAL OPERATOR BAccording to a schedule set up by a supervisor, a Chemical Operator B carries out operation of a group of reactors, vessels, and related equipment for the production of specified products according to batch card instructions.DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO RESPONSIBILITY FOR:Directing activities of all assigned assistants such as Operator C, packer and handler, etc.Making sure that all instructions on batch cards are carried out.Seeing that all equipment is in working order and for making minor repair or adjustments (as has been done in past practice).Seeing that all safety regulations are followed by all personnel assigned to him.Making certain that all raw materials are on hand for products to be manufactured.Cleaning all working areas and maintaining them in a safe condition according to instructions.Reporting all accidents, damage to equipment or buildings, spills of chemicals and any conditions which may affect plant operation.Filling out all paperwork required relating to production. The B Operator should be capable of taking over an operation from an A Operator in the absence of the latter.CHEMICAL OPERATOR CChemical Operator C works under the direct supervision of a Chemical Operator A or B, or under certain conditions, direction by a Production Supervisor.UNDER SUCH SUPERVISION, MAY BE REQUIRED TO: Collect and assemble raw materials. Fill drums. Clean working areas. Handle and operate equipment according to specific instructions. Assist A or B Operator in charge in operations as required.Chemical Operator C is a training position and cannot be filled by anyone not qualified to advance to Operator B. This involves a requirement for ease of reading and writing English, ability to carry out arithmetical operations, a degree of manual dexterity and a proper sense of responsibility.
