Position: Investment Analyst Organizational Location: Houston, TX Working Conditions: Normal, no adverse or hazardous conditions Job Group Category: Exempt Work Hours: Full-time; M-F 8-5 Primary Purpose: The Investment Analyst I is charged with assisting the Chief Investment Officer and Director of Investment Strategy in providing detailed research on specific companies, mutual funds, ETFs, risk factors, market trends and asset allocation studies. This position will assist in all Investment Team research and due diligence projects and presentation of such projects. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: * Assist with preparing agenda and reports for weekly Investment Committee meeting * Responsible for Investment Committee meeting minutes * Maintains investment team due diligence calendar * Maintains statistical data on L&W model portfolios * Responsible for preliminary draft of manager due diligence packets * Aggregate sell-side research allocation recommendations * Organize and maintain firm research files and database * Research mutual fund, ETF and equity screens * Mutual fund contact / organize meetings * Through research and discussion contributes to overall firm investment strategy * Prepare & maintain quarterly 401(k) consulting reports Job Specifications: * Understand and support the firm's vision, mission, and strategy * Engage in teamwork and teambuilding and integrate into the culture of the firm * Stays apprised of L&W firm policies, industry best practices, and is constantly evaluating technologies to enhance our capabilities * Complies with all Firm's HR and Compliance policies Education/Experience: * Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a fouryear college or university, preferably with a finance or accounting degree * No certificates or licenses required, but advanced credentials such as CFA, CFP, CPA, Masters or MBA desired * Preferably one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience * Proficient with Microsoft 365 * Expert level Excel skills * Very strong analytical skills * Advanced level Excel skills * Experience with Bloomberg, MorningStar Direct, a CRM Database, Document Management software, or other Financial Industry software is a plus * Proactive and strong work ethic * Excellent organizational skills * Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines * Professional appearance and demeanor * Ability to work well in a team environment * High attention to detail and timely follow-through * Strong communication skills - verbal & written Certificates and Licenses: CFA charter holder candidate desired, but not required.
