Description Job Description: Leidos has an opening for a a Foam Manufacturing Engineering Technician part of the Cargo Mission Contract team by performing foam manufacturing and 3-print manufacturing services. The position will entail hands on manufacturing of custom flight support equipment used to protect spaceflight hardware and to support rapid prototyping of engineering projects. Primary Responsibilities * Will build up custom foam clamshells out of laminated and machined materials. * Perform foam finishing functions, including hot cutting, sanding, and adhesive lamination and covering with flight protective materials. * Programming of CNC Mill for custom builds * Conversion of engineering drawings to and from models to support manufacturing activities * Programming and performing filament based 3-d print manufacturing of flight equipment using a variety of materials. * Generation and execution of Work Orders under an AS9100 quality system * Perform post manufacturing inspection and metrology to drawing specifications. * Handling of spaceflight equipment and hardware to NASA standards including ESD, materials cleanliness, and per environmental requirements Basic Qualifications * Associate's degree in engineering technical field or equivalent direct experience and 2-3 years prior relevant experience in support of NASA's ISS Program * Mechanical design focus in execution of manufacturing of equipment * CAD to machine interfacing * Expertise in CREO and CREO-NC engineering design and manufacturing * Expertise in 3-D print manufacturing * Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) Preferred Qualifications * Microsoft Project Skills and/or other Project scheduling/management applications Must be able to pass a Public Trust background investigation. Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident due to length investigation for non-U.S. persons.
