ED, Financial Sponsor - Healthcare CoverageNew York, United States of AmericaWHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Within Santander's Corporate and Investment Banking platform, and as part of Banking and Corporate Finance, the primary function of the Senior Banker is to initiate, develop and manage relationships as well as develop and drive client strategy for an assigned group of Financial Sponsors clients. The Senior Banker will also provide healthcare sector content to his/her clients but also to other Financial Sponsors clients of Santander with the aim of delivering value-added ideas that can position Santander as a strategic partner to its clients. The ideal candidate will have a background in healthcare and M and will report to the Head of Financial Sponsors US. The position will drive the origination of opportunities and cross sell of the bank's products and services, especially investment banking, to Financial Sponsor clients, in the US and elsewhere in Santander's global footprint (especially Latin America and Europe). The Senior Banker will work in close coordination with his/her peers and senior management in the US and in Santander's other geographies. US Corporate and Investment Banking operates on a global level to support its clients by delivering banking products consistently across the Santander footprint. Responsibilities: Serve as the primary contact for the assigned client group, maintain a deep and through understanding of clients' changing needs, and partner with colleagues across the bank to provide relevant solutions and deliver the firm to the client. Carryout marketing strategy and individual client business plans, maintain the business pipeline, deliver annual budgets, with the expectation of achieving or exceeding financial targets. Provide sector content and industry insights and trends that may translate into business decisions and opportunities Lead the development of strategic ideas to originate investment banking business including M, Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Risk Solutions and financing (project, acquisition, leverage etc.) in the US and globally where the bank conducts corporate and investment banking business Coordinate and work with peers across the firm's global network (Latin America, Europe and Asia) to support origination and execution of deals Initiate, develop and enhance relationships, with senior executives at existing clients and targeted prospects, with the objective of enhancing revenue generation and risk-adjusted return on capital for the bank Ensure assigned client portfolio is kept current with all aspects of the firm's KYC/AML requirements Assist with strategy, new product development and initiatives for the Financial Sponsors franchise in the US and abroad Mentor junior staff to foster an environment of career growth and opportunity At Santander, we value and respect differences in our workforce and strive to increase the diversity of our teams. Qualifications - External At least 10+ years of relevant experience in corporate & investment banking, private equity or related area; background in healthcare and M Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience - Business, Finance, Economics, or equivalent field; MBA preferred Deep and established network of senior relationships with top tier global Financial Sponsors Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively as an individual and as part of a successful and growing team Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast paced environment, entrepreneurial culture and ability embrace change Highly self-motivated to both work independently and to manage complex deal teams Self-starter with the ability to generate sales prospects and pipeline Proven ability to build and develop relationships; strong internal network will be critical to success Strong communication and interpersonal skills; demonstration of poise, composure, and confidence in front of clients and Bank senior management Primary Location: New York, New York, United States of AmericaOther Locations: New York-New YorkOrganization: Banco Santander S.A.As a part of our commitment to the health and safety of our employees and clients, we have implemented COVID-related health and safety requirements for our workforce.
