The main function for the Grain Origination Specialist is to develop and create relationships with corn and soybean producers building mutually beneficial partnerships that are imperative to the success of both the producer and Didion. A strong compensation and benefits package with yearly opportunities for wage increases and bonus payouts.Other benefits like tuition reimbursement, paid maternity/paternity leave, generous paid time off package, and a 5% match on 401K contributions.Preview of the Position:Originate grain and accurately create contracts, manage contract confirmations, and execute hedges.Maintain an opinion on corn and soybean futures and local basis markets.Interpret customer needs to develop/implement contracts and merchandising tools that improve our producers risk management effectiveness while sourcing grain for Didion competitively.Work independently to prioritize in person visits with producers at various locations, including on farms. Be a source of market information for producer partners and relay market information to Didion's Grain Team.Lead Didion's producer marketing meetings and engagement.Represent Didion at industry events and participate on the Company's behalf with industry associations.Lead future sustainability and trait specific corn and soybean origination programs.Learn to operate our grain receiving scales and grain grading operations and be available for coverage or supplemental help as needed.Utilize Didion's CRM and ERP programs and develop tools that transform data points into strategies.Coordinate FOB farm logistics as needed.Prospect new producer partners as Didion's demand grows.What do you need to qualify?HS diploma required, B.A. or B.S. in Agricultural Business, Business, or related field preferred. 3+ years of related field or equivalent job history (grain origination, grain merchandising, seed sales, feed sales, ect) with a passion for agribusiness.Demonstrated experience meeting sales targets and meeting and/or exceeding customer expectations. Ability to represent Didion with professionalism and demonstrated expertise in the feed sales and grain merchandising disciplines. Proficient user of Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills required to establish and foster customer relations.
