I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for coordinating clinical care of patient.
• Integrates all health care providers to ensure high quality patient/family outcomes, and establishes a consistent and accountable relationship with patient/family. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, initiation and development of the plan of care, patient/family education, utilization management and discharge planning.

SCOPE OF SERVICE
The Medical/Surgical unit consist of 26 rooms; 25 private and one semi-private room. Care is provided for pediatric and adult patients and all general Medical/Surgical patients which includes total joint procedures.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Nurse Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant or EMT; or
o Nursing student having completed a semester of clinical fundamentals; or
o Registered Nurse with a foreign Registered Nurse license with at least one (1) year acute care experience.
• Nursing Assistant certification may be preferred depending on area of assignment.
• Current BLS/HCP certification.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• One (1) year experience as a Nurse Aide in an acute care or long-term care setting, preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The APRN functions as an expert practitioner with educator consultant, researcher and leadership role components and functions autonomously and in collaboration with other health care professionals to enhance the quality of nursing practice and patient care.
