Shop Lead supervises diesel and trailer mechanics to ensure that the fleet of primary and secondary equipment is maintained. This position requires an effective leader who can train, motivate, and coach their team to meet or exceed the company goals. The Shop Lead position reports to the Shop Manager.

Vehicle Maintenance
• Schedule and monitor preventive maintenance activities, vehicle repairs, and work projects.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained to OHFL standards and returned to service without undue delay.

Safety
• Create a zero tolerance environment for unsafe acts.
• Hold regular safety meetings.
• Keep a clean and safe work facility.
Relationships and Communication
• Create positive relationships with the vendors and internal customers.
• Work with operations to insure they are aware of problems that exist and arise.
• Communicate or coordinate any reoccurring maintenance issues to the proper management.
Administration
• Understand the basic function and procedure of the EMS.
• Help achieve goals for you and the crew, track, monitor and post the results.
• Audit and approve invoices and RO's for accuracy.
